Senior students complete 280 hours at a business location under the supervision of a mentor in the areas:
- Media Design: Video Production, Graphic Design, Web Design
- Software Applications, Web Development
- Networking Administration & Cybersecurity
- Microcontrollers, Electronics, CAD, IT Services and Device Repair
The following are hiring times for MTCHS Interns:
- Summer Intern (280 Hours)
- Interview & hire in May
- Begin internship in end of May after the last day of school
- 20-25 hours (minimum) up to 40 hours per week, must attend Monday-Friday at the business office location
- Fall-Spring Intern (280 Hours)
- Interview & hire in August/September
- Intern hours are between 1:00-5:00 PM
- 10 (minimum) to 20 hours per week, must attend Monday-Friday at a business office location

The business company representative or designated intern supervisor must complete to be approved.
Please complete the form and email for approval to Cheryl Deitchler, MTCHS Work Based Learning Coordinator: cheryl.deitchler@mtchs.org.
Requirements for internship request approval:
- Must have an identified supervisor/mentor for the intern
- Parent/guardian of intern are not allowed to be the supervisor/mentor
- Must have office space, equipment & software for intern to complete identified projects
- Must have a business office location the intern will attend with the supervisor/mentor
- One career focus area identified
- 280 hours
- Student interns must attend the internship at the business location Monday-Friday until the 280 hours are complete
- List of projects, tasks & duties that will be completed during the 280 hour internship
- Must have an identified supervisor/mentor for the intern

- Must have a completed & approved Internship Request Form attached

Host a junior student to experience the business work environment for a day.
Students are able to meet and observe professionals in the technology industry.
Expose students to company culture and organizational structure.

A project provides students with the opportunity to apply both customer service and technical skills, providing a link to the business community.
Projects are completed under the direction of technology teachers and are an extra volunteer student project.

Projects are in addition to regular course work.
Student compensation will be in the form of volunteer service hours, stipends, and/or scholarships.
