Advanced TV/Video 2024

Subject: MTCHS 

Theme: Serious/Inspirational 

Within the given time frame, you will create a 1:30 MTCHS recruitment video that explains and answers the questions: (Must be edited to be exactly 1:30. Every second over or short of 1:30 will be counted against your score. 

• What is MTCHS? 
• Who is the ideal potential student for MTCHS? What kind of student would thrive here? 
• Include the words: Design, Code, Fix, Engineer, Manage, and Support.
• What’s the best thing/s about being a student at MTCHS? 
• Why would you recommend MTCHS to others? 
• What kind of student should attend MTCHS? Describe the perfect candidate. 
• What are the mandatory internships at MTCHS and what benefit are they? 

You will do at least (2) short interviews. - Preferably use articulate students who represent the values of MTCHS 

One of your interviews can be a teacher/staff/faculty (Keep in mind they may not have time) 

One of your interviews can be a member of your team. You may use a voice over, but keep the following guidelines: - Voice must be clear, articulate, pleasing 

• Voice over must not deduct from the overall story 
• Make sure to normalize compress and possibly remove noise. Audio should be perfect. 

Use tasteful video transitions. - Corny, silly, or distracting video transitions are not acceptable. 

You must use at least one effect 

• Keep effects appropriate. 
• Effects MUST NOT distract from the overall story 
• Effects could simply be a color correction 
• Too many different effects or goofy effects will distract from the story. 

You must include tasteful titles. One of your titles will be an intro title with: 

1. Team name 
2. Member names 

This intro title will fade in and out before your video starts and will last approximately 4 seconds. 

• Premiere will be the software you use for editing 
• You may use Photoshop/After Effects for titles, lower thirds animations etc. 
• Final product will be delivered in h.264 
• Final product MUST be 1:30  
• Final Product must include tasteful soundtrack (Copyright Free) that compliments the video.

• You must shoot and use b-roll to illustrate points being made in the interviews.

• All cuts in audio and video must be smooth. 
  

Target Demographic: 8th graders and their parents. REMEMBER the THEME: This is an honest look into MTCHS, not an invitation to our tech parties. The theme and message should reflect the hard work and passion for technology that would accompany an ideal candidate for MTCHS. 

Final Instructions: Upload your final video to moodle. It must be under 2GB in file size

• Make sure to name the file your first and last names. 
  
• Turn in to the Judges by the time allotted. No late work will be accepted.
