Basic Video Production Action Sequence 2025

BASIC TV/Video Production Instructions

Please read all instructions thoroughly while you download the footage & audio files. 

Warning, the footage you will be editing is a girl being chased by an axe wielding fiend, then waking up from the dream.  

Video must be exactly 1 minute in length. Any shorter than 1 minute or any longer than 1:15 minutes will be counted against you. 

1. Included here are a 480p footage file and a zipped SFX library for your use. You will need to go and find music that fits the feel of your video. (Note, you may use copyrighted music for this assignment, but if you try to upload your final to a platform it may be taken down)

2. Using Adobe Premiere Pro (or Davinci Resolve, etc), import your footage, including any audio files you might want to use. (You can use any editor you want as long as the footage imports and edits. The footage has been tested in Premiere Pro and Premiere Rush.

3. Cut the scene using the footage provided. 

• Your job is to cut the footage down, add music and sfx to make the video as scary as possible. You may find music from any source you want as this is an educational project. Although keep in mind using unlicensed music may prevent you from showing this cut on socials. 

4. Edit must tell the entire story of the chase and the waking up from it. 
5. The dialogue for the end is far too wordy, cut it down to its essence. 
6. You must add an intro and end credits. 

• Intro: "Edited for Techparty by (your name), February 7th, 2025"
  
• End Credits:  listed at the end of this assignment. (End credits CAN go over the 1 minute mark)

7. Render the video into h.264 format. ***Be sure to include time for rendering*** 

8. Upload the video file to Moodle. File size must be under 2gb 

9. ****IMPORTANT***** name your filename your first & last name, so the judges know who you are! 

****IMPORTANT***** Make sure to test your video playback in windows after you render & before you upload. 

Judges give points for following the prompt, creativity, and skill.
