Know what work has to be done (expected to communicate)
Keeps informed of member progress and sees that the chapter is moving forward
Presides over meetings, making sure they begin on time and follow the order of business as set forth on the agenda
Has a complete understanding of the matters being discussed and the possible effect of their recommendations
Conducts meetings following correct parliamentary procedure
Brings issues to a conclusion when sensing a discussion is dragging or being monopolized
Must be present at all functions and meetings
Works with other officers to prepare the agenda
Represents SkillsUSA in the school and community
Assists with any duties that need to be done
Generates participation among members
Arrives 5-10 minutes early for functions to prepare area and makes sure everything is ready
Meet with committees

First assistant to the president, should prepare for the office as carefully as the president
Presides at meetings and other functions in the absence of the president
Must be well informed of the issues
Assist the president in preparing the agenda and advises the president about the agenda during the meetings
Generate a year-end report
Must be prepared to assume office of president (or any other position) when necessary
With the parliamentarian, is responsible for setup of the room for the meeting
Assists the president by meeting with committees and assuring all activities are in keeping with SkillsUSA chapter activities
Responsible with the president for posting the agenda to the website
Secretary
Takes minutes of all meetings
Posts minutes to the web site
Ensures the web site page is up to date
Includes in the minutes the name of the chapter, the kind or purpose of the meetings; the date, time and place; name of the presiding officer; approval of previous minutes; treasurer's report; reports and actions taken, in order; motions carried or lost; adjournment
Counts votes unless someone else is appointed
Asks question if unsure of the wording of a motion or its outcome
Keeps/has access to the SkillsUSA Constitution and by-laws
Calls meetings to order in absence of both the President and Vice President
Takes care of all chapter correspondence including thank you letters
Keeps Calendar up-to-date
Treasurer
Keeps record of chapter funds and points
Takes attendance
Maintains Membership records
Assists advisors in paying bills and making deposits
Prepares financial statements
Complete Inventory of chapter equipment
Knows all regulations about handling the chapter finances
Reporter
Gets news about the chapter before the public (School Announcements, Emails, etc.)
Generates press releases
Includes "who, what, when, where, why, how" of events
Liaison for Class Reps
Parliamentarian
Is the chapter authority and consultant to the president in procedural matters
Maintains order in the meetings
Calls attention to any errors in procedures
Manages Games and Game Committee
Historian
Maintains the archives of pictures, videos and other information regarding SkillsUSA
Takes pictures and videos of SkillsUSA events
Assists reporter with advertisements and promotional material
